Great Expectations
Have you ever had one of those days when you have great expectations and are looking forward to getting things done and then BAM, something unexpected happens that just takes the air out of your sails and your desire to tackle your day just seems gone in a split second? This happens mainly because of the “great expectations”. You expected things to go a certain way. There are too many moving parts to life to have it go the way you had pre-planned.
With so many unknown variables that will happen in your day, how do you plan and stay focused and “go with the flow” when some things change? Start by expecting and looking forward to the unexpected. Schedule some time mid-day to “recalibrate”. Evaluate your schedule, expectations, and tension levels. Does anything need to be changed? Does there need to be an attitude adjustment? A relationship adjustment? A schedule adjustment? Recalibrate and move forward.
