Assessment, Evaluation, and Consultation
At PsychArizona, we provide different kinds of assessment and consultation based on your needs, for children and adolescents ages 3-17. Common concerns that warrant assessment include attention problems, learning difficulties, and emotional/behavioral problems.
Evaluations typically include observation of the child, parent/guardian interview, review of available records, and questionnaires completed by parents/guardians and/or teachers. Psychometric testing may involve assessment of intellect, academic skills, emotional/behavioral functioning, attention/concentration, language, memory, and other skills.
We then develop specific treatment recommendations based on your child’s particular strengths and weaknesses. We regularly consult with and refer to other professionals as needed to help you reach your goals. We will monitor progress on an ongoing basis, and provide follow-up support as needed.
Evaluations typically require several hours to complete. Children often enjoy the assessment process and find the activities interesting. A separate feedback session is scheduled with parents to discuss results and develop the treatment plan.
We provide preschool and kindergarten readiness testing, educational consultation, independent educational evaluation, and various types of psychological and psychoeducational assessment.
