Women's Sexual Pain
“My passion is to help women in their struggles with sexuality and pain. I believe that women have suffered silently for too long, and their needs have not been met. Experiencing sexual pain can be a frightening experience and it is my hope to join women in their journey to finding health and wholeness.” – Dr. Seeberger
When a woman experiences painful intercourse, burning, or an inability to engage in sexual intercourse, it affects all areas of her life. These issues can cause distress to relationships, contribute to low self-esteem and rob you of the joy of a fundamental human need.
Women’s sexual pain disorders is a broad term covering a range of issues such as pain with intercourse, pelvic pain disorders, dyspareunia, vaginismus, and other physiological disorders. It is estimated that up to 50% of women will suffer from these challenges at least once during their lifetime. It is a recent area of research in which new treatments are becoming available that bring hope for full recovery so that you do not have to simply “endure” this condition.
At PsychArizona, we believe in a multidisciplinary approach to treatment for women’s sexual disorders with counseling as the foundation for working through the challenge. When needed, we will coordinate your treatment with your physician and physical therapist so that you are receiving the most comprehensive treatment available. We will craft a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific life situation and needs and incorporate the latest research and creative thinking to determine the best way to lessen the profound emotional and physical toll of your diagnosis.
We understand that most women suffer in silence with these issues and welcome the opportunity to work together with you to help.
